Helen, or H as we all know her, discovered CrossFit after deciding that the prospect of training for another marathon didn’t appeal to her as much as she had hoped.  While rewarding, the training for long distance endurance events simply hadn’t been as enjoyable as the training for the other sporting interests H had pursued in the past.  


H says – “Having rowed competitively and boxed for many years I was no stranger to hard work, but when I found CrossFit I discovered a type of training that combined all the elements I was looking for.  The training is demanding but it is fun and rewarding at the same time.  The positive, supportive environment and constant variety were compelling enough but the results when compared to other types of training convinced me that this was something I wanted to be a part of.”


Having become a regular fixture at the gym H went on to become an intern coach before completing her CrossFit Level 1 trainers course.  This was soon followed by her and husband Nigel, developing  and running the Elements programme for those new to CrossFit.  


The opportunity to be a part of new members’ introduction to CrossFit and the community here at Bold is one of the things H has enjoyed the most and H is particularly interested in how CrossFit training fits into the bigger picture of health and enjoys working with people making changes to both their activity level and diet in order to pursue a more healthy and balanced lifestyle.  


H can be found coaching main class, conditioning and assisting Coach Marlo with the CrossFit Kids programme.  A big fan of kettlebell training H has completed the 10,000 kettlebell swings in a month challenge but luckily this isn’t compulsory if you are looking for training advice.
